Sweet ol’ lavender, is a great colour. In ancient times, it was a symbol of royalty, the most uncommon of colours. It was only with a rare snail that this dye could be consumed, and this resulted in this fabric being one of the most expensive items in the roman empire. The rise of purple and its shades as symbols of royalty started from that.
